AV Technology Managers find themselves dealing with perhaps the most rapid technological revolution in the history of AV. At such a time, education is a key to keeping up—even among a group of people who are some of the most technologically-savvy and well-trained in the AV industry.

“If the 2017 InfoComm show taught us anything it is that technology managers are starved for information and training,” Steve Cook, consultant relations manager for Draper, Inc., said. “Forty-four percent of the attendees at the event were technology managers—a record number. We only anticipate this increasing.”

However, technology managers typically have limited budgets for training, development, networking, and travel. That’s why Draper is joining with other manufacturers to provide training at the 2018 Technology Manager Summit on March 8 in Durham, North Carolina.

The free day-long event will also feature product training from Biamp, Christie, FSR, and Quam Nichols. Attendance has been expanded this year from just educational tech managers to any tech manager, whatever their market.

“As industry leading manufacturers, we understand that the challenges that educational technology managers face are not exclusive to their market,” said Gina Sansivero, director of business development and education for summit coordinator FSR, Inc. “All technology managers are increasingly taking on more responsibility to develop technology standards and specify products for their in-house AV systems.”

In addition to product training, there will be a peer-to-peer panel discussion moderated by AVNation’s Tim Albright, focusing on the challenges and successes of designing systems in open architecture workspace, flexible training rooms, huddle spaces, and more. Albright, a well-known former technology manager, will also serve as host for the entire event.

Just as importantly, attendees will be able to network with other technology managers and share experiences, installations, and solutions.

All training presented during the summit earns CTS renewal units.
