Later this month, basketball players and other athletes from around the world will compete for glory in the world’s largest multi-sport event—and Draper will be in the thick of the action. The World Masters Games encourages sporting participation, competition, and camaraderie. Athletes of all ages take part in 28 sports. During the last games in 2013, 20,000 athletes participated in Torino, Italy.

Men’s and women’s basketball competitions will take place at three venues, including the Bruce Pulman Park in Auckland. Those competing at Pulman will be playing on Draper TBS-26B basketball backstops, installed by GymLeader of Auckland.

We’re pretty excited about this opportunity for Draper products to be showcased as part of such a great international competition!

Draper’s folding backstops are perfect solutions for facilities like the Pulman Gymsport and Recreation Centre, because they can be winched up and out of the way to allow for multiple uses. Draper’s TBS-26B backstops fold to the side, not to the front or rear like similar units. This opens the area above and between backstops for other ceiling-suspended equipment.

The facility also features Draper gym dividers, so it can be split up into several smaller, separate spaces for multiple concurrent events.

Want to see the strength and stability of our backstops in action? Draper dealer GymLeader New Zealand handled the installation. Take a look at this video of Zach Roberts, a basketball player from Pukekohe, near Auckland. He tests the strength and stability of the backstops that Draper dealer GymLeader New Zealand installed in advance of the games.
